This is the start to many blogs. I am an outdoorsman that lives to hunt, fish, trap and work with hunting dogs. I currently own 2 dogs, a chocolate lab and also a Mountain Fiest. I love to fish for trout using a flyrod or spinning tackle. When it comes to hunting, I only use a bow or shotgun(shotgun is for upland game, waterfowl, and squirrels). Trapping, thats a whole together different ball game. I enjoy trapping coon, beaver, mink, and muskrats. I will trap coyotes, fox, marten and fisher when they are legal or I am in an area where they are located.
I currently hunt on public land, which is very tough due to hunter population but I feel it makes one a better hunter. Most of my fishing is done in creeks and rivers here in the mountains of Western North Carolina. I do venture out to area lakes for a little catfish and crappie fishing.
In closing, I would like to say that I get threats from the anti's but I let them roll off my shoulders. My forefathers, blazed the trail that made me an outdoors person and I will continue to hunt-fish-trap until the day I die.

Ok old man looks like I got here first. Look forward to being on with you here. So just when did you give up on bass fishing? Considering how it has gone of late up here maybe I should try fishing for sme thing else too.
ReplyDeleteJim, I do love bass fishing but over the years I have learned that I dont excell in that sport. Sure I can catch a few fish but not consistantly. I need to really work on that part of my game. You must remember--I don't catch any fish until Tommy Ivers says I can...LOL
